Counselling for Every Need

Individual Counselling (50 mins)

These are sessions where you get to talk through what you want to change and we put together a plan of what is possible.

Two types of frequency:
Critical - weekly (or fortnightly) to be supportive and move you through this phase swiftly.

Maintenance - (monthly or longer)
This is where you have developed a better understanding of yourself, how your work and boundaries, to be able to move to top-up sessions when you need them.

Whether you're struggling with stress, anxiety, or navigating a difficult life transition, individual sessions provide a time to explore what is going on for you, develop coping strategies, and help you build resilience.

£85 per session

Couples Counselling (90mins)

Couples counselling starts with an assessment to get a picture of what is happening in the relationship. I give a view of what I can see and then leave it up to the couple if they want to take up sessions.

They are designed to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen bonds within relationships.

I create a nurturing environment where everyone feels heard, understood, and supported as we navigate challenges together.

£125 per session

Group Support Sessions (90mins)

Our weekly supportive group sessions offer a unique opportunity to connect with others facing similar challenges.

We feature a rolling programme of subjects, carefully chosen based on the group's needs, empowering participants to regain control and learn from shared experiences.

In this friendly, relatable environment, everyone is encouraged to express themselves openly and collaboratively find solutions to their struggles, fostering mutual understanding and growth.

Podcast Resource (YouTube)

"It's Not You, It's Them" is a podcast for everyday people navigating the messy, complicated world of relationships. Hosted by Rich, a BACP-registered counsellor from the UK, and Lauren, a US-based licensed trauma therapist, the show cuts through the noise to help listeners spot the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationship patterns, hold onto what's working, and let go of what isn't. With two very different clinical backgrounds and perspectives, Rich and Lauren challenge assumptions, bust misconceptions, and bring warmth, honesty, and a little humour to conversations that matter.

Rich is a BACP-registered counsellor and trauma-informed therapist based in Southampton, with over a decade of clinical experience across private practice, EAP, and online platforms. He specialises in men's mental health, stress and anxiety, and relationship dynamics, and is currently completing an MSc in Psychology. Alongside his client work, Rich co-hosts the podcast, has been featured in The Independent, and is passionate about making therapy more accessible particularly for people who wouldn't typically walk through a therapist's door.

Lauren is a licensed trauma therapist and ADHD specialist with a Masters in counselling. She works primarily with individuals affected by incarceration — bringing a deep systemic and offender-informed perspective to her practice and also sees private clients. Outside the therapy room, Lauren co-hosts the podcast and she's a qualified ALPS Supervisor at Masters level.

Absolutely. Everything discussed in our sessions is strictly confidential, in accordance with the ethical guidelines set by the British Psychological Society and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. There are very rare exceptions, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, which would always be discussed with you first.
The length of counselling is highly individual and depends on your unique needs and goals. Some clients find resolution in a few sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We'll discuss this during our first session and regularly review your progress to ensure the approach remains right for you.
My approach is grounded in Gestalt therapy, believing that you hold the innate capacity for growth and self-healing. Creating a better understanding of yourself, the situations you were (or are) in and coping strategies and techniques to support you.

My core philosophy is to provide a non-judgmental, empathic, and genuine space for you to explore your inner world and find your own solutions.
Yes, I offer both online sessions via secure video link, accessible from anywhere in the UK or internationally, and in-person sessions at my Southampton and Fair Oak offices. Home visits are also available in Southampton. We can discuss which option suits you best during our initial consultation.
